Pentatonic

Speaker

Pentatonic is a speaker constructed from five aluminum panels; it features two outer panels with four audio drivers, two bass panels with dual bass drivers, and a central control panel with a volume rocker, a power indicator, a USB-C port, and a Bluetooth pairing button. A leather backing connects these panels, providing a flexible hinge and a tactile contrast to the aluminum.

When open, Pentatonic unfolds into a customizable configuration that empowers its users to optimize sound projection and adapt the product to their space. When closed, Pentatonic folds into a pentagonal form—a deliberate geometry that is compact, protective, and transportable. The internal cavity allows the speaker to remain active, offering continuity between home and mobile environments and creating a speaker that adapts to the rhythms of modern life.

This project reflects a careful study of how objects transition between use and rest, mirroring the fluid boundaries between private and shared experiences and positioning the speaker as both a personal tool and a communal object.
