The Kirigami Visor was designed for Peña House, a Los Angeles based fashion brand. It is a single piece of metal shaped as a curved shield. Its front is a lattice of 42 openings, laid out as if cut from one flat sheet and pulled open. The strands tilt like louvres, giving shade while keeping the view open, and a solid band along the brow and lower edge holds the pattern like the uncut border of a sheet.
Every part follows the same flat-sheet logic. The nose piece is one tab that folds down from the top of the brow and bends softly around the nose. The temples thicken gradually toward the ear, growing only on the inside so the outer line stays clean. Where each slit ends, the surface twists slightly, so the openings grow out of the bands. The Peña House wordmark is debossed inside the left temple, visible only to the wearer.
